Sprint Planning
A sprint planning session is conducted on the first day of a sprint.
What is it?
A collaborative effort conducted by the project/product manager. The product manager describes the backlog and defines the sprint objective. The development team then defines the work and effort required to fulfill the goal.
Before the meeting
- Go through the backlog and familiarize yourself with the user stories.
- If any story has a dependence on a different system note that down.
- Roughly estimate the effort required to do a story.
The Meeting
- Estimate each issue using function point estimate.
- If you are unaware of the measurement criteria please reach out to the product manager.
- Raise any blockers or concerns you’ve got for a problem prior to estimation.
